DIG IN | Knowing

Dig into knowing (God)

The knowledge of God is given to us through the word of God. The word of God is the foundation:

1) The word of God will teach us what we should pray
2) The word strengthens our Faith
3) The Word frees us from sin and sin keeps us from seeing answered prayer

To get it in to you we’ve got to get you in it. - You’ve got to get in to Gods Word

DIG IN | Digging

► Scripture often uses the picture of thriving plants to communicate what God wants for you and I: Proverbs 11:28, Jeremiah 17:7-8 and Psalm 1:1-3

▼ GODWARD MOTIVATION (2 Kings 3:11-12) They were inspired to seek God… To turn to God (Phil. 3:12) “Not that I have already attained, or am already perfected; but I press on, that I may lay hold of that for which Christ Jesus has also laid hold of me.”

▼ FAITHFULL PARTICIPATION (2 Kings 3:13-16) You want rain? Dig a ditch!
2 QUESTIONS =
(1) What is it you need?
(2) Where is it you need to dig?

▼  DIVINE INTEVENTION (2 Kings 3:17-20) The ditches they dug, held the water God sent…

Survey Says: GOD'S WILL

►GOD’S WILL: God's “specific will” is always framed by His “general will.” The boundaries and a path, clearly marked by what He’s already revealed to us in the word:

(1) What we should not do (1 THES 4:3)
(2) What we should do (John 14:12).

▼ GOD'S GENERAL WILL: When you walk in His general will, you can better discern His specific will. So two questions we need to ask:

(1) What am I doing that I should not be doing? (Psalm 139:23-24)
(2) What am I not doing that I should be doing? (Romans 12:2)

▼ KNOWING HIS SPECIFIC WILL THROUGH:
(1) PRAYER > Am I taking the time to truly seek God? (Jeremiah 29:12-13, James 1:5, Phil 2:13)
(2) HIS WORD > what does Gods Word Say? (Psalm 119:105)
(3) OTHERS > Have I sought Godly council (Prov. 15:22)
(4) CIRCUMSTANCES > What is God doing around me? (Acts 16:6, Galatians 4:13)

▼A SURRENDERED WILL – As a Christian the greatest growth takes place in our life as we learn to relinquish the control of our lives. (Luke 22:42) < Am I willing to whatever He wants?

Survey Says: FORGIVENESS

FORGIVENESS: What do we do when we’ve been wronged? (1) Clam up (2) Lash out (3) Carry it around.   JESUS shows us exactly what we are to do: “Father, forgive them, for they know not what they do.” (Luke 23:34) FORGIVENESS IS NOT: APPROVING and/or FORGETTING = FORGIVENESS IS LETTING GO < LETTING GO is NOT EARNED, PROBATIONAL (Matt 18:21) and is NOT a FEELING (MARK 11:25) < LETTING GO is releasing them from OUR DEBT, REVENGE (Rom 12:19), REVIEW, REMINDERS (1Cor 13) and our RESENTMENT.▼ We LET GO through PRAYER (Mat 5:44), PERSPECTIVE (Eph 4:32), PERSISTENCE and PURSUIT. FORGIVENESS IS LETING YOU GO: FORGIVENESS IS OUR GREATEST NEED 📌 LEARN MORE: http://bit.ly/CC-learnmore  Citizens on YouTube: http://bit.ly/Citizens_Subscribe
